Stage Crew Description:
Stage crew members of Little Flower Catholic High School are the backbone of the musical production. Under the guidance of the directors, stage crew members aid in the various construction, production, and technical aspects of the musical. Stage crew members are expected to be strong and supportive team members while putting their best efforts into the creation and running of the musical. Stage crew members must be present during weekday and weekend meetings from September to December.
Roles:
Stage crew members will be given a role and schedule. Stage crew roles are separated into 2 parts; the creation of the set and props, and the running of the production. Like a well working machine, both parts will eventually work at the same time. Members may choose to overlap roles in part 1 and 2, but this is not required nor guaranteed (for example, students in paint crew may also be considered for spotlight if they wish).

Part 1
Paint:
Paint crew members will have the bulk of the work in the beginning of the musical production, but some members will continue painting into part 2 of the production. If you take art classes and have an eye for detail, this is your team. You are not required to be a part of paint crew to be a part of stage crew. There are several positions available that will be determined before the production formally begins.
Props:
Prop crew members have a very important role. If you are an organizer and want to learn more about sculpture and building, this is your team. Some members will continue to represent the prop crew into part 2 of the production. There are multiple prop positions that will be determined. Please note that 2 prop managers will be represented backstage during the performances.
Costumes/Makeup:
Costume crew members will help aid in the designing and altering of costumes, the organization of the costume room, and the upkeep of costumes during the production. If you know how to sew or have an eye for fashion, this is your team. Two costume crew managers will be represented during the performances.

Part 2
Tech:
Senior/Junior privilege will be given to stage crew members who wish to play a technical role backstage during the musical. There are 11 tech positions available that will be determined; 2 sound, 2 lights, 4 spots, 2 mics, 1 battery operator. Numbers may change slightly if greater need arises for more tech members.
Backstage:
Backstage crew members must be quick, strong, and have strong communication skills. Senior/Junior privilege will be given to stage crew members who wish to play a role backstage during the musical. There are 8 total backstage positions available that will be determined; 4 runners, 2 props, 2 curtains.
*Senior/Junior privilege means that students who have participated in the musical before and who are upperclassmen will have first priority, but that does not mean that every Junior or Senior will get to do their first picked role.
Stage Crew Managers
Stage Crew Managers will be recognized as ambassadors of the musical and the ‘right hand’ to all directors. Managers must be strong leaders, dependable, and supportive to all members of the musical and staff. Failure to meet expectations may result in probation or termination of the leadership position. Managers must be strong leaders, dependable, and supportive to all members of the musical and staff. Failure to meet expectations may result in probation or termination of the leadership position. These roles include:
- Communication: Managers will have all stage crew member contacts to spread meeting updates and relay any school conflicts with stage crew scheduling
- Role Models: It is required for managers to spread positivity and excitement about the production to all students of Little Flower, to have great attendance at school and crew meetings, and to evoke comradery amongst cast and crew.
- Commitment: Managers must have an open schedule and commit to most or all meetings as they serve an important role. They will encourage efficiency and commitment amongst peers.
- Break Times: Weekend meetings will have designated 15 min breaks every 2 hours, where all crew members will take a break together. Managers will be in charge of countdowns to break. ( ex: President: “10 minutes till break” Crew: “Thank you 10”)
- Conflict Resolution: It is the responsibility of crew managers to communicate any information to the director about conflicts happening with stage crew members, and to continue to encourage positive attitudes amidst the other crew members.
- 15 Minute Meetings Before Crew Meetings: Once a week (or as needed) managers will meet with Stage Crew Director to discuss production updates, problem solve issues and other manners.
Future Managers may only be chosen by a FULL VOTE FROM ALL STAGE CREW MEMBERS.
